Ear Check with Enhanced Access

Your GP surgery has booked an appointment for you to have an ear check with the Enhanced Access (EA) service.

EA operates at weekends only and is based at a local hub.

The ear check appointment is a 15-minute appointment where the nurse or healthcare assistant will assess your ear/s to see if ear syringing is an appropriate treatment for you. Please note that no ear syringing will take place at this appointment.

The clinician will advise you of the next steps.

If ear syringing is advised, the EA service will book an appointment for you to return for another weekend appointment.

The clinician will offer you advice on how to prepare for your ear syringing appointment.

Please follow the advice given and continue to do so until your appointment date.

If you do not wish to have ear syringing with the EA service at the weekend, we will contact your surgery to advise them. You can then arrange your ear syringing appointment at your own GP surgery.
